Albert Richard Sweet, 86, of Vashon Washington, passed away June 18th, 2013, with family at his side.

Albert was born to the late William and Beatrice Sweet of Belvidere, New Jersey, on August 6, 1926.He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1944.After returning from military service in 1946, Albert attended Drew University where he received a Bachelor's of Arts and a Master's of Divinity Degree.Albert was married in Spencerport, New York, to Gene Alma Haley in 1950.Shortly thereafter he began his ministry at the New Dover United Methodist Church in Edison, New Jersey.After serving at New Dover Albert continued his ministry at the Wesley United Methodist Church of South Plainfield, New Jersey.In 1966 Albert received and accepted an offer to serve at the United Methodist Church in Ellensburg, Washington.He finished his career in Seattle, Washington at the Sand Point Community United Methodist Church.

Albert and Gene retired in 1991 to Vashon Island, Washington.He is survived by his wife Gene, and two sons:Craig (Kaoru) Sweet of Osaka, Japan; and Mark (Ann) Sweet of Vashon Island.He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Tatsuhiko Sweet; and Alisa Sweet.
