Serebryakov, Alexander Vladimirovich Serebryakov was born April 27,1949 in Leningrad, Russia. Alexander, who was known to most as Alex orSasha grew up with a love for learning and reading. Following his middleeducation, Alexander served in the Soviet Army. Directly after Alexanderattended the University of Lezgofta to study physicaleducation. Under the guidance of his professor Alexander wrote hisdissertation on the topic of Sports in America. This was the first time thatthe topic "Sports in America" was covered and discussed in Russia.Alexander was very active all through his life, participating insports, martial arts, and dancing. As a young man he enjoyed water poloand swimming. At the age of 15 Alex was the Leningrad champion inswimming for the butterfly.At the age of 30 Alexander met and married our mother AllaSazonova and they had their first son, Sergei Alexandrovich, followed byAndrei Alexandrovich and then they had a daughter Anya Alexandrovna.In 1989 Alexander moved to the United States and shortly afterre-located his family here. He strived to give his children a healthy lifefilled with opportunity.Alexander worked as a social worker for the Department of Socialand Health Services for nearly 20 years. He was devoted to empoweringand helping others.Alexander enjoyed spending time with his family, and friends. Hehad a love for traveling and the finer things in life. His hobbies includedstudying religion, reading books, writing, traveling, dancing, music andwatching his children and grandchildren play sports. He always strived togrow spiritually, intellectually, and becoming the best person that he could.Everything Alexander did was for his children and family. He alwayswanted the best for us.Alexander leaves to cherish his memory his mother Nina V.Serebryakov, his son Sergei, daughter-in- law Leslie; son Andrei,daughter-in-law Bridgette; daughter Anya; grandchildren Emily, Alexia,Evan, Kingston and Evangeline; one uncle Vladimir V.
