Christine Renee Hills-Cote' was born on June 7, 1967 in Burien, Washington and
died of colon cancer on the Island of Kauai in Hawaii on June 21, 2016.
The Hills family moved to Vashon Island, Washington in 1972 and Christine
attended Vashon schools - graduating in 1985 from Vashon High School.
She was the editor of the high school newspaper and on the tennis team.
She attended Seattle Pacific College for 2 years, then transferred to BiolaUniversity
in California where she graduated in 1990 with a degree in Communications.
Christine married Darren Cote' in 1993 and they have been involved in the Christian
ministry together for the past 23 years. Their two children are Ashley and Austin.
The Cote' family have lived in many locations in California before moving to Kauai in 2015.
In 2005, Christine and Darren Cote' became founders of African Orphan Outreach (AOO).
Christine was Director of Operations and Sponsorship and did the monthly Newsletter
which gave her a chance to use her love of writing with her love for the Kenya African Children.
What started out with 75 children has now grown to where they now help over 300 orphaned children.
AOO was Christine's mission in life and a tremendous passion to her and her many supporters.
All the kids at the Orphanages in Africa call her "Moma Christine!" They will all miss her!
Survivors include her husband, Darren Cote', and their children Ashley and Austin living in Kauai.
Vashon survivors include Fred and Marilyn Hills (parents); Ron (brother) and Martha Hills- Haley, Evan;
Roger Hills (brother) and Edee Eggert (Aunt) - plus many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Also, Dallas and Marlis Cote' (in-laws) living in California and many, many Christian friends.
A Memorial service will be held at the Kauai Christian Fellowship Church on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10 AM
A Hawaiian "spreading of the ashes" will take place at a later date.
There will be a Vashon graveside service and a Memorial gathering announced at a later date also.
