A MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR JUNE NEWCOMB will be held on Thursday, February 9at 1PM in the Chapel at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany inSeattle,1805 38th Ave Seattle, WA 98122.
June was an exceptional spirit who touched everyone she met. She died inthe comfort of her younger son's home on Vashon Island on January 31,2012.
June was married at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Seattle, WA to George S.Newcomb in July of 1951. At that time, George Newcomb was a part of theteam sent by the United States Air Force to help facilitate thereconstruction of Germany after WWII.
June was the mother of George, Mary and David Newcomb and was active invarious charities, including the Visiting Nurses of Seattle.She enjoyedentertaining and was an exceptional and creative cook. She made friendseasily and had a wonderful gift of connecting with people withdisabilities.
Mary and George were comforted and eternally grateful to their brotherDavid who was her primary care giver in the last months of her life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice team on VashonIsland for their incredible care of June, they allowed her to pass inpeace and dignity.
June will be interned at Tahoma National Cemetery next to her husband Lt.Col George S. Newcomb.
