George Edward Humphreys,87 passed away at his family home on Vashon surrounded by his loving family. George was born September 29, 1924 in Dayton, Washington to Lester and Mary Louise (Anderson) Humphreys. George and his siblings, older brother Bob, younger brother Glen and sister Judy all attended West Seattle High School. George was a member of the 1942 graduating class. After graduating he joined the Navy during WWII and was in the Army during the Korean War.George studied accounting and worked as a master shop electrician IBEW Local 46. January 1, 1949 George married the love of his life Joy Murray and they had five children, Zoe Anne, Merle Lynn, Abbie Gail, Ward Murray and Vance Moffit. He was the proud Grandfather of five grandchildren, Graham, Raven, Caitlin, Kimberly and Victor. George was Joy's right arm and whole heart and he will be greatly missed by all who new and loved him. There will be no services at his request.
