Harold Rose passed away in a Seattle hospital on August 30, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born on Vashon Island December 16, 1926 to parents Helen and Clarence Rose, joining a brother Jack.

He attended the Center Grade School and then the Vashon High School, where he graduated from in 1945. While in high school, he was an avid athlete, playing football, baseball and basketball (he led the Tri County League in scoring for two consecutive years).While attending Seattle University he continued with his favorite sport of basketball. He also served in the US Air Force.

In September 1949 he married Roberta Magill. To them was born a daughter Carol and a son Robert.

Harold enjoyed a career as an accountant in the insurance industry for many years. The family lived in West Seattle, then Normandy Park for 43 years. After retirement they moved back to Vashon Island and lived in the Burton area.

He will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 65 years, Roberta (Bobbi) Rose, his daughter Carol Jones and her husband Thomas and son Robert Rose, plus many friends.

His parents and brother Jack preceded him in death several years ago.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Vashon Cemetery at 1pm on Monday September 15, 2014.
