Ina Mae (Tiny) Ross went to heaven to join Papa Jack on Wednesday, 12/ 28/ 2011.She had been living in Seattle, WA the past four years, and spent the last 15 months residing on Vashon Island. Tiny was born in Williston on 11/18/1919 to David and Anna Guss.She attended schools in Williston and Grand Forks, and graduated from Minneapolis School of Business.She worked for some time in Minneapolis, until she married her high school sweetheart, Dr. John (Jack) Ross.They were married 62 years and raised seven children:John, Susan, Bill, Kim, Patti, Mary Kay and Jim. Tiny was a devoted wife and mother, spending many hours creating the perfect meals for a family of nine.She always had freshly baked cookies on hand and had a great time experimenting with new ideas from her many cookbooks.She created special birthday parties for each of us, and made every holiday a precious moment. She was very involved with St. Joseph's Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of America and Beta Sigma Phi.She spent hours providing food for the church events, simultaneously leading groups of Campfire Girls in service to their community.During those years, she frequently provided many plates of cookies and desserts for her parents' friends.Tiny's favorite place was Paradise Point, the "lake water house".It was here where the best memories were made.She and Papa Jack hosted dinners, pool parties, golf tournaments, parades and boating excursions.Any day was an opportunity for celebrating, and the participants in the parade donned crazy hats, grabbed a homemade instrument, and Papa Jack played the drums. Her greatest love was sharing time with her family, especially her precious eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.She enjoyed sharing their stories, singing nursery rhymes and making up her own tales of her "babies". She loved to laugh and to hold the little ones. Her survivors include Susan (Edgewood, WA), Bill (Bainbridge Island, WA), Kim (Mill Creek, WA), Patti (Greenfield, MN), Mary Kay (Gilbert, AZ), and Jim (Plover, WI). Grandma Tiny, may you know the impact you have made on our family, as well as on this world.May you fly "on eagles' wings" to join Papa, Angel John. Grampie and Grammie, Glenn, and our loves in heaven.
