Kirsten Annette
Lindskog
Feb 25, 1962 — Jan 3, 2016
Our amazing Kirsten passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday January 3rd 2016 at home with her life partner Ron at her side. The two weeks leading up to her death she had been surrounded by those people she loved the most in this life. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2014 and courageously battled the disease right up to the end.
She was born on February 25, 1962 in Seattle, WA. To Grant and Donna Lindskog and was brought home to Vashon during a record snow storm with her father and neighbors digging a path for the car to travel through. Ironically the morning she passed away snowflakes were falling.
Growing up in the Lindskog household was nothing short of idyllic, with Kirsten always leading the neighborhood kids on crazy escapades. Her days were spent horseback riding, playing at the beach and nobody ever knew what the next adventure would lead to, but one thing is for certain it was never boring. Kirsten started attending Husky football games with her Father and family friend Joe Boyd at the age of 7 and when her Father got Seahawk season tickets in 1976 that started her lifetime love of attending all of the games right into this year's season.
Her Father Grant was the Island optometrist for 36 years and she began her working career in high school as his right arm. They worked together until his death in 1994 with Kirsten eventually leaving the practice and continuing her career at Pacific NW Eye Clinic in Tacoma, where she worked until just a few months ago.
Her life took her too many different places but she loved her beach home on Vashon. She worked tenaciously on gardening, decorating and home improvement projects. She was an avid do-it-yourselfer, with just this last summer and fall painting her home and remodeling her bedroom. There was nothing she would not do.
Kirsten lived life on her terms always and in the days leading up to her death she expressed what a good life she had lived, full of fun and happiness with no regrets.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Grant and Donna Lindskog. She is survived by her long time love of her life Ron Patterson, her son Jordon Cross (Megan), grandson Aiden, her sister Karen, nephew Grant and niece Madison as well as other family members and many friends.
The void she leaves in our lives is huge and we will miss her forever.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 23rd 2016 at 1pm at Island Funeral Service with a reception to follow.
