Pat Winkel was born in Odessa Texas on March 17, 1953. She grew up there and graduated from Permian Highschool, where she was cheerleader for the storied Permian Panthers, the football program that Friday Night Lights is based on. She then attended Tarleton State University and then moved on to dental hygienist school. She then embarked on many endeavors until working for the Sears Photography company where she met Tom Winkel. They were married a few years later and they were inseparable until he passed three years ago. As couple they loved to travel, sail and were very sociable where ever they went. She spent time raising her son and daughter as well working with and supporting her husband's work in Texas, Virginia and finally back to North West where Tom's roots where. They lived on Vashon Island, Oak Harbor and Gig Harbor. Everywhere she went she volunteered and was involved in her community and schools, until in the late 90's she was diagnosed with MS. She slowly but progressively lost almost all of her mobility. She handled this difficult situation with amazing grace and never stopped fighting or believing. She passed peacefully on February 14, 2022. She is predeceased by her father, John Hennech and mother, Francis Van Auken. She is survived by her brother Michael Hennech, son Jarod Winkel, daughter Lisa Moe, (Aaron Moe) and her beloved grandkids Kasen and Josslin Moe.
