Michael was born in Birmingham AL. to Ormond and BernaDean Bradley, and raised in Memphis, TN. where he excelled in school and sports. He received a football scholarship to Georgia Tech and graduated in 1971 with degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Civil Engineering.

Mike wanted out of the South and spent several years traveling and working across the country until he came to Vashon Island. Some friends from high school were there, and it became home base. In 1974 he was hired as a Senior Cost and Scheduling Engineer for Alyeska on the Trans Alaska Pipeline. He loved the adventure of Alaska. In 1977 he decided to settle on Vashon and started Bradley Brothers Construction with his brother Alan.

Mike married Marie in 1980 and they built a house on the south end of Vashon. In 1983 he became involved with I.R.A.T.E. Island Residents Against Toxic Emissions. He and attorneyBill Tobin sued Asarco for trespass. "Bradley vs. Asarco" set precedentin Washington law, and helped lead to the closure of the smelter and the massive soil remediation on Vashon and Maury Islands.

He was lucky in many ways. He was given an injured racehorse and started breeding and racing his homebreds. His winners included FLEET PACIFIC who was voted the best horse for the first 10 years at Emerald Downs.He was able to visit the winner's circle many times. He always said those years of racing were the most fun he ever had.

He gradually moved from heavy construction and developed a business designing and permitting residential and commercial properties on Vashon.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marie; her daughter Anna Marie; his brother Alan (Lisa); nieces Alason Bradley and her son Gus; Mia Skeffington (Mason) and their daughters Vivian and Willamina.
