Michael was born in Seattle, WA. to William and Cecelia Furlong June 2, 1959 and died November 18, 2009. Following graduation from Vashon Island Schools, Michael worked in the Alaskan fishing industry while earning his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. Following graduation, he joined Boeing, where he was employed in Advanced Projects until the time of his death. Michael and Kathy Sundstedt were married in April 1999. Michael was predeceased by his grandparents, his brother Kevin and his sister Teresa. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his parents, sisters Anne Furlong and Monica (Curt)Featherstone, nephews Kevin and Brett and Aunts and cousins. Michael was kind, thoughtful and generous witha great sense of humor, curiosity and loyalty. He will be loved, remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends. His funeral service will be held on November 25,at 12:00 pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Vashon Island. A memorial service in celebration of Michael's life will be held on December 5 at 2:00 pm at the Seattle Museum of Flight in the View Room. All who know Michael are invited to attend, to share their experiences and memories.
