Ralph Arthur
Dinsmore
Mar 2, 1954 — Apr 13, 2017
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Ralph Arthur Dinsmore, age 63. After a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer he went to be in eternal Glory with the Lord on April 13, 2017.
Born March 2, 1954 in Seattle. He grew up on Vashon Island, a member of the graduating class of 1973. He married his loving wife Jayne in 1978. They made their home in Ballard until they moved to Marysville where they raised their family. Ralph was an extremely gifted mechanic, studying mechanical engineering at the University of Washington and continued studies throughout his career at the MEBA Engineering School in Baltimore, MD. He was Chief Engineer for Washington State Ferries for 36 years, working throughout the entire fleet. An accomplished sailor, he navigated the waters of Puget sound and Canada with his family every summer. He enjoyed endless activities; float plane pilot, scuba diver, parasailing, snow and water skiing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, Uncle and friend to all. A kind gentleman, he always saw the good in everyone. There was nothing he couldn't fix or do, and anyone who asked for help from him would receive it. Ralph is survived by his father Tom, step-mother June, brothers Daniel and Scott, wife Jayne, children Victoria, Dane, Troy, Ashley, grandchildren Rayna, Isabella and Kyla and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Diane and brother Mark.
A celebration of his life will be held June 4, 2017 @ 2pm.
