Born in Seattle, but raised on Vashon Island, Bob was the youngest of six children, born to proud Scandinavian parents. He attended a one-room schoolhouse through third grade. He walked unafraid through the woods each day to school.  Bob turned out for baseball in his sophomore year of school.  The coach told him he ran too long in one place.  Turned to basketball where he excelled.  In his senior year, Bob developed Hepatitis and missed many weeks of school.  Upon returning to school, he had a relapse and, again, missed a great deal of school.  His homework enabled him however, to graduate.

After graduation, Bob entered an apprentice program at Edison Tech, and was hired on at Boeing.  That began the ferry commute for the next 13+ years.

After dating Bev for a year, they were married.  Upon return from their honeymoon, "Uncle Sam" sent an invitation to join the Army.  Basic training at Fort Ord, California, assigned afterward to Ft. Rucker, Alabama in the helicopter division.  Bev joined him there for 4 months, and then they were sent to Ft. Hood, Texas, assigned to fixed wing assignment, where they remained until his discharge.

During that time in Texas, Robert Dale was born.  We looked forward to returning to Vashon and families.  Boeing welcomed Bob back, and the family settled in Ellisport, where Sheri Lynn was born, followed 19 months later, by Keith William.

Bob was transferred to the Boeing's Everett plant which made it impossible to continue to commute, so the family moved to Bothell.  During the 40 years with Boeing, Bob saw the world.

At age 58, Bob turned in his badge and retired.  He said that was one of the best decisions he made.  Then they got the traveling bug, which they did up until a few years ago.  Also, mission trips were now possible.  After 43 years in our Bothell home, we moved south to Orting to be closer to families.

God has blessed so abundantly; life has been good.
