Stan passed away after a short illness at Swedish Hospital on January 11.

Stan was born in Seattle, Washington to Norwegian Immigrants, Charles and Inga Thorsen on June 1, 1931. He graduated from West Seattle High School and proudly served in the United States Navy, during the Korean War. After discharge from the Navy, Stan returned to Seattle and married Lillian Schultz, who he had met while in High School. He was employed by Puget Sound Energy, holding many positions during his 40 year career. He retired as District Manager of Vashon.

Stan enjoyed golf, gardening, boating and baseball, both as a coach and an avid fan. He and Lillian loved to travel, especially to Norway to visit relatives there. They also travelled through Europe and they took many cruises and tours. He was a member of the Vashon United Methodist Church, Vashon Golf and Country Club and Kiwanis.

Stan will be greatly missed by Lillian, his wife of 62 years, his daughter Tina and son Todd. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins in Norway. We all will miss his sense of humor and his love.

At his request, there will not be a church service but there will be a Celebration of his life at a later date.
