Lisa Devereau
Funeral Director/Manager
Lisa Ryan Devereau was born and raised on Vashon Island. During high school and college, Lisa worked as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for Vashon Fire and Rescue. She also assisted at Island Funeral Service. Lisa attended Highline College where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in the King County Jail for 21 years. For two years Lisa & her husband, John, also owned Bloom's Off the Wall.
In 2000 Lisa returned to Island Funeral Service and became a Licensed Funeral Director in 2008. She manages the Vashon Cemetery where she also serves as a commissioner. Lisa is very active with many other Island groups as well.
From 2012-2016, Lisa served as President of the King County District of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association (WSFDA). Also, in 2012 she was elected to serve on the board of directors for the WSFDA, becoming the 3rd female president of the association in 2019, Lisa is now the WSFDA Legislative Laison.
Lisa & John have been married nearly 30 years and have three grown children. In their down time they enjoy relaxing at home on a small Vashon farm where they live with their dog, Barley, and many farm animal friends.
